What happens after students complete PYP ?

In PYP 5, students conduct a collaborative unit of inquiry named PYP Exhibition. On successful completion of this unit, students transition to Middle Years Programme (MYP) which starts from Grade 6-10. After MYP, students transition to a competitive Diploma Programme (DP) for two years. From here, most of them receive university scholarships in the most prestigious universities.
Some of the most selective universities worldwide recognize the IB diploma and our students are regarded as some of the highest performers in their areas of study. The IB sends transcripts to about 5,000 universities in 100 different countries with top destinations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Hong Kong, and India.

Can the students transition to non-IB school if the change from IB?

Yes. Transitioning to IB programmes from other curriculums, and vice versa, can certainly be done.
Many schools do offer the IB Diploma without the preceding PYP and MYP programmes. For new IB students, it is not just the influx of new content that can be overwhelming. It is also the assessment structure. If your child wants to excel in the IB Diploma, the coursework components like the internal assessments, TOK, and Extended Essay cannot be neglected. Look out for schools that offer a good transition in the year prior to starting the IB Diploma (grade 10, approx. 15-16 year olds) to adequately prepare your child for what is a demanding two-year programme.

How do the students transition from other curriculum to IB?

Students from other curriculum are supported in communication, access to information and with time they develop relevant skills which are referred as Approaches to Learning (ATLs) and include, research, communication, thinking, social and self-management skills. They are also provided with opportunities to develop IB Learner Profile Attributes.
