Welcome to SMAIS, where we believe that every student deserves a quality education. Our grade level placement is a crucial part of ensuring that our students receive the best education possible. 
We take into account the age and previous school placement of each child, but the final decision on grade placement is made by the school. Our cut-off date for grade placement is August 31st of the year of school entry. 
Preschool 1&2 students must turn three (3) or four (4) years old on or before August 31st, 
kindergarten students must turn five (5) by that date, and grade one students must turn 6 before the 31st of August. 
For students applying for grade 2 and beyond, they must turn 7 before the 31st of August, and the age requirement continues through to grade five.
